Growing Together

What Is It?

Growing Together is about building responsive, trusting relationships that give children a secure foundation for learning and growth. It recognizes that meaningful connection looks different with every child and calls adults to remain attentive, flexible, and willing to learn the child in front of them.

As children feel known, supported, and understood, they gain a steady place to return to while they explore, take risks, make mistakes, and grow. In that process, adults grow too. They become more intentional, observant, and responsive in the way they care for each child.

Topics We Explore

Growing Together may include:

  • Trust and secure relationships
  • Responsive caregiving
  • Communication
  • Belonging and community
  • Friendship, conflict, and repair
  • Family and caregiver partnerships
  • Adult reflection and growth

The Little Roots Approach

At Little Roots Collective, we see relationships as more than a strategy for gaining cooperation. They are the foundation of meaningful growth. We take time to learn the individual child, recognizing that trust and connection may look different in every relationship.

We hold love and boundaries together, offering children warmth, guidance, and consistency without expecting perfection from them or from ourselves. Through attentiveness, reflection, and a willingness to repair when things go wrong, adults grow alongside the children in their care

Rooted in God's design for connection, we believe every child deserves to be known, supported, and guided with both grace and truth.

Why It Matters

Children were created for connection. When they are known, loved, and supported by trusted adults, they gain the security to explore, learn, ask for help, and move through difficult moments without facing them alone.

Strong relationships do more than support learning or behavior. They help children experience belonging, grace, healthy boundaries, and the steady care that reflects God's heart for them. As adults commit to knowing each child with patience, wisdom, and intention, those relationships become a foundation for growth on both sides.
